Adventurous Maternity Shoot on Maui
Eric and Rachel were on their Babymoon on Maui. She was 25-weeks pregnant when they had their adventurous maternity shoot on Maui. When we were talking about what kind of photo shoot they’d like and as I was getting some background information to get to know them before the shoot, they shared with me that they are always up for adventure. They love mountain biking and hiking and that sort of a thing. So I knew they’d be up for a more adventurous maternity shoot including traversing some rough lava rocks to get just the right shot.
We started at White Rock Beach and then we headed south where they hiked down a bit to get some shots on lava rocks. The ocean almost knocked me over at one point. Even though I was pregnant while shooting this session, I was somehow able to stop from tipping over. We had a good little laugh about that!
Then we headed to a super unusual piece of Maui. The week they were here, wildflowers were blooming. As they’re expecting a girl, I knew couldn’t pass up the opportunity to shoot part of their session in this dreamy field. The wildflowers added a special little touch of femininity to the photos.
We had a beautiful sunset that evening which was perfect for some silhouetted wide shots which I love to do. After the sun went down, we waited for 15 minutes and got gorgeous colors over the horizon. We got some incredible shots to end the session.
Rachel and Eric: Best of luck as you enter this journey of parenthood. You had such a beautiful, adventurous maternity shoot on Maui. Thanks for choosing Angela Nelson Photography to capture your pregnancy!
