Maui Wedding at Dragon Fruit Farm
Lisa is originally from the East Coast and Peter is originally from here on Maui. These two had an incredibly lovely Maui wedding at Dragon Fruit Farm up above Launiupoko Beach Park near Lahaina. This location was unusual because it offers such amazing views of the mountains. There is another part of the venue that offers a view of the ocean, too. Lisa and Peter decided they wanted their ceremony to have the mountain view. I really love that they chose to have the mountain in the background since most people choose to have the ocean behind them. I always love when people choose something a little different than we normally see!
This was one of the most heartfelt ceremonies that I have every witnessed. It is really clear how much they adore each other. All the bridesmaids were very emotional, too, which just tells you what kind of company that Lisa keeps. All of these girls clearly mean a lot to her. What was really cool about this ceremony was that Peter played a song on his ukulele while Lisa was escorted down the aisle by her father. Then, they exchanged vows that they wrote for one another. Another cool feature was at the very end of the ceremony they released doves. Peter’s father trains these doves, and it was a beautiful, personal addition to their wedding. It was a cool way to end the ceremony for the doves to be flying overhead.
Right after the ceremony, we did some bridesmaids and groomsmen pictures up on the ocean view part of the property. We then headed down to Launiupoko Beach Park where the reception took place. Everything about their wedding was personalized to this couple! On the head table, they had oyster shells and roses strung together and draped over the table because Peter is an avid fisherman. Lisa’s family members played music for their reception. They also included a lot of hula during the reception.
One of the absolute BEST parts of this celebration were Lisa’s surprises for Peter. First, she presented him with a new ukulele with an inscription on it for him. Then, she took to the stage and danced a hula for Peter. Lisa learned this special hula just for the wedding, and Peter had no idea she had been practicing. You can tell from the photos just how much this dance meant to him.
For the romantics, we stayed right there at Launiupoko Beach Park. We had the best sunset of the summer. It was absolutely stunning. I’m really happy that they put off going to their reception just a little bit longer than they had planned because the sunset kept getting better and better.
Lisa and Peter: Congratulations on your heartfelt Maui Wedding at Dragon Fruit Farm. I was swept away by all of your special, personalized touches to your wedding day. Thank you for choosing Angela Nelson Photography to capture your wedding. Wishing you all the happiness in the world.
