I’m Angie, an Ann Arbor wedding photographer who calls Chelsea home. I was born and raised right here in the area, and after spending 17 lovely years in Maui, Hawai’i, I’ve returned to my roots and my home state. These days I photograph weddings throughout Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Dexter, Ypsilanti, Saline, and beyond. Basically, if it’s in Michigan, I’m probably down to go there. I photograph weddings, elopements, and celebrations for couples who want their photos to feel like them rather than a copy and paste version of somebody else’s wedding. My approach is a mix of real, unscripted moments and epic, cinematic portraits because I think you deserve both.
This part of my story is a little different.
I was born and raised in Dexter, Michigan, but 17 years ago I packed up my life and moved to Maui, Hawaii. I arrived with five suitcases and absolutely no idea where life was going to take me. Somehow, that turned into 17 years of island-living, photographing hundreds of weddings, chasing sunsets, and having one hell of an adventure.
And then life changed.
My husband and I decided it was time to come home. Not because we stopped loving Maui. Quite the opposite. But I wanted my girls to experience the kind of childhood I had growing up in Michigan. Fireflies. Bonfires. Four actual seasons. Wide-open spaces. Snow days. Riding bikes around town. Knowing your neighbors. The little everyday things that I didn’t realize I would miss so much until I had kids of my own. And with my parents in their sunset years, it just all made sense.
So we packed up our life, brought our two girls and our dog along for the adventure, and came back to my roots.
Now I get to photograph weddings in the same places that shaped me — Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Dexter, Ypsilanti, Saline. And honestly? It feels pretty damn special.
HOW I SHOOT
MOMENT-DRIVEN. NEVER COOKIE-CUTTER.
I’m a moment-driven photographer, which basically means I’m much more interested in what is actually happening than forcing your day into a list of Pinterest poses.
I’m going to give you direction when you need it, especially when it comes to those epic portraits, but I’m not going to manufacture moments that don’t exist. I want the belly laughs, the weird little inside jokes, the tears your partner didn’t expect, your dad getting emotional, your friends losing their minds on the dance floor, and all the random stuff that happens in between.
I’m also not into making every wedding look the same. Your photos shouldn’t feel like they came from a template.
Think authentic, colorful, bold, cinematic and a little bit unexpected.
Real moments mixed with portraits that make you stop and say, “HOLY SMOKES! That’s us.”
Because your wedding is unique. Your photographs should be too.

Maybe your day starts with a quiet morning getting ready at home. Maybe it starts at the Ann Arbor courthouse with your kids and parents standing beside you. Maybe you’re getting married in a barn, in the woods, in your backyard, or somewhere completely unexpected.
I’ll photograph the little things happening while everyone gets ready, the nervous anticipation before the ceremony, the people who showed up because they love you, and the moments you didn’t even realize were happening.

- PORTRAITS – Maybe we’ll sneak away for portraits down by the river. Maybe we’ll wander through the forest.
- WEATHER – Maybe it starts snowing halfway through the day and we decide to go outside anyway. Rain? I’m not scared. Let’s embrace it all and tell your story how it unfolds. That’s the fun part.
- THE REAL STUFF – I’m there to document the real stuff, help create some ridiculously good portraits, and make sure that when you look through your photos years from now, you can actually feel what that day was like.

I work with all kinds of couples because, well, love is love and weddings aren’t one-size-fits-all. Traditional wedding? Awesome. Tiny courthouse ceremony? Hell yes. Backyard party? Elopement? Something totally weird and wonderful that doesn’t fit into any traditional wedding category? Even better.
I’m especially drawn to couples who care more about having an experience that feels like them than checking every box on a traditional wedding checklist.
BIPOC and LGBTQ+ couples are safe with me. Everybody deserves to feel comfortable, seen, celebrated, and completely themselves in front of my camera.
And while Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Dexter, Ypsilanti and Saline are my backyard, I’m happy to travel anywhere in Michigan for your wedding. If you’ve got a place you love, let’s go there.
Oh — and Maui? I haven’t forgotten about the island that lit that photography fire in me years ago. I return to the islands a few times a year to photograph weddings and elopements.
